Spicy Beef Stir Fry

cool runnings

Serves: 4 |  Preparation time: 35 minutes | Cooking time: 10 minutes

Ingredients
  • 1 lb beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Cool Runnings hot pepper sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Cool Runnings premium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar (for brightness)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Directions
1. In a bowl, mix the Cool Runnings Hot Pepper Sauce, Cool Runnings Premium Soy Sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch. Stir until the sugar and cornstarch are dissolved.

2. Add the sliced beef to the marinade, toss to coat, and let marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 1 hour for better flavor absorption).

3. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

4. Add the marinated beef in batches to avoid overcrowding. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

5. In the same skillet, add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until vegetables are tender but still crisp.

6. Return the beef to the skillet. Add the vinegar and stir to combine everything. Continue to stir-fry for 1-2 more minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.

7. Serve the stir-fry over rice or noodles and enjoy!
