cool runnings

Serves: 2 |  Preparation time: 10 minutes | Cooking time: 12 minutes

Ingredients
  • 2 ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick, 10–12 oz each)
  • 1 tbsp Cool Runnings steak spice
  • 1 tbsp British Class coconut oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 2 sprigs thyme or rosemary (optional)
  • Salt, to taste (optional depending on spice saltiness)

Directions
1. Pat steaks dry with paper towels and bring to room temperature for 20 minutes.

2. Rub both sides of each steak with coconut oil and generously season with Cool Runnings Steak Spice.

3. Heat a heavy skillet (cast iron preferred) over medium-high heat until very hot. Place steaks in the pan and sear for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Adjust time to your preferred doneness.

4. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, add butter, garlic, and herbs to the pan. Baste the steaks with the melted butter for extra flavor.

5. Remove steaks, let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing and enjoy!
