Ingredients
- 2 lbs. minced beef
- 2 blades chive
- 2 sprigs thyme
- 2-3 cloves garlic
- 1 beaten egg
- 6 slices bread
- 2 shortcrust pastry (with 1 tsp. Cool Runnings jamaican style curry powder added to flour)
- 1 tsp. Cool Runnings monosodium glutamate (MSG)
- 1 tsp. chopped hot pepper
- 1 tsp. Cool Runnings paprika
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions
1. Mince chive, thyme, hot pepper and garlic; add to meat with salt and mix well.
2. Soak bread in a little water and crumble finely.
3. Cook seasoned meat until almost done, about 15-20 minutes.
4. Add bread, paprika and monosodium glutamate and cook for 5 minutes more. Allow to cool.
5. Roll out pastry thinly and cut in circles 3"- 4" in diameter and ¼" to ½" thick.
6. Place 2 tablespoons meat in centre and fold over to form a crescent.
7. Seal ends and prick with a fork. Brush pies with beaten egg.
8. Place on ungreased sheets and bake for about 30-35 minutes at 350°F.
